SILive.com: Staten Island students explore cybersecurity

On December 11, Engineering Tomorrow’s Gerry Dawes joined students from St. Peter’s Boys High School in Staten Island for a special lab event exploring cybersecurity concepts.

During the lab, students learned about protecting data with encryption, hacking, phishing attacks, and other topics, then put their knowledge to use practicing different encryption techniques using the web app CyberChef.

Through no-cost labs, Engineering Tomorrow seeks to inspire students across the nation to continue pursuing STEM education beyond high school and create a larger, more diverse engineering workforce.
