Protecting Data with Encryption

In this lab, students are introduced to cybersecurity. They will learn about topics including phishing attacks, malware, hacking, artificial intelligence, and more. The activity will involve practice with different encryption techniques and ways to hide information from hackers.

Students will:
  • Understand the importance of cybersecurity
  • Analyze different types of cyber attacks
  • Describe how to identify phishing attacks
  • Practice using different methods of encryption

Olivia Lau
Quality Engineer, Stryker

Olivia received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering with a Mechanical Engineering emphasis from the University of Southern California (USC). During her time at USC, she balanced engineering courses with being a student-athlete on the USC Women's Rowing team. Upon graduation, she started her career as a Quality Engineer at Stryker where she positively impacts lives through innovative medical devices.
