At its annual dinner recognizing the people and organizations who have enriched Don Bosco Cristo Rey (DBCR) High School’s scholarship program, Engineering Tomorrow Executive Director Megan Barrett was awarded the School Partner Award for her commitment to providing meaningful learning opportunities for students. During the event, student representatives shared how Engineering Tomorrow programming, with diverse topics ranging from green hydrogen to water filtration, astrodynamics and more, has elevated their STEM education and inspired new possible career paths.
Led by DBCR President Mark Shriver, DBCR provides students with invaluable professional experience alongside industry professionals, through a combination of college-preparatory academics and an innovative Corporate Work Study Program. Engineering Tomorrow is proud to support DBCR’s science curriculum by providing hands-on labs that align STEM concepts with real-world engineering applications, inspiring students to envision their future careers.
Available to classrooms nationwide, Engineering Tomorrow labs include three flexible segments that teachers can schedule to complement their curriculum. Each lab begins with a professional recording in which an engineer introduces key content and explains the hands-on project. Free lab kits are shipped to classrooms, allowing students to explore engineering principles as they build and experiment. The final segment connects students with an engineer and college mentors over a live Zoom session, where they receive feedback on their projects and learn more about careers in engineering.
Engineering Tomorrow looks forward to continuing its partnership with DBCR and educators nationwide to provide real-world, engineer-led programming to students at no cost. We are honored by this recognition of our Executive Director by DBCR and grateful for the opportunity to support their exceptional students as they explore futures in STEM.
