Meet our keynote speaker
Sanjay Patel
Sanjay has 20 years of experience in optimization algorithms combined with simulation modeling platforms for water distribution systems – focused on reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
His work has included data management for water utilities ranging from data collection and advanced analytics through to visualization of output.
Sanjay is a co‑founder of Confluency LLC whose mission is to aid in the management of the infrastructure to distribute the worlds most valuable resource ‑ water.
This is made possible through the ability to scale simulation automation, optimization, artificial intelligence, machine learning and advanced visualisation to enhance the value of water system models. Confluency brings the capabilities to fully explore potential solutions, compare trade‑offs, and support decisions that maximize the value of system improvements.

Christie Patel
Christie is a senior engineer with a decade of experience focused in hydraulic modeling and analysis of water distribution systems and application of GIS to
support modeling projects.
Christie has experience in advanced applications of hydraulic modeling including operationalizing water distribution models, water quality modeling, risk assessment/prioritization, master planning, and capital improvement optimization.
