Meet our keynote speaker
Frank Fish

Dr. Frank Fish is a Professor of Biology at West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he is the director of the Liquid Life Laboratory.

His research focuses on the energetics and hydrodynamics of aquatic locomotion by marine animals using their inspiration for application in the development of biomimetic systems.

He is the innovator of the tubercle technology based on the design of the humpback whale flippers. This patented technology has been applied to fans, compressors, pumps, and wind turbines to make them more efficient and quieter by the company WhalePower in which Frank is the President.

Meet our keynote speaker
Jayanthi Iyengar

Jay has over 30 years of experience in the automotive, aerospace and advanced water technology fields.

After starting her career in product development for Delphi/General Motors in 1988, Jay joined Chrysler in 1997 as a Powertrain Systems Engineer. In 2005, she was named Senior Manager and Chief Engineer of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ (FCA) Hybrid Development Center. From 2009-2012, Jay served as Global Director, Electrified Powertrains for FCA.

In 2012, she joined Eaton Aerospace as Group VP Engineering and Technology, and from 2015-2019 she was the Senior VP, Chief Innovation and Technology Officer of Xylem Inc. Jay earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Mysore University, Karnataka, India, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Wayne State University.

what is a lab day?

Lab Days are live, virtual field trips.

Virtual field trip event

3 hours live, available later on demand

Event type

No-cost, hands-on live-streamed event

Your students will come together virtually with other classes all over the country to learn about a specific topic in engineering and complete their own related projects.
Participate live for the event — or attend as much as you can and watch the rest on demand.
