Students from St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale attended the Engineering Tomorrow workshop in Kearny on Dec. 12. The workshop began with an overview of engineering, highlighting various careers in the field. Students were split into groups to participate in activities focused on hydraulic and electrical engineering. “It is predicted that in 2025, 50 percent of the world population will be without clean, fresh water, so we were given the task to efficiently solve the problem,” said student Sebastiano Riverso. Another task required students to program a self-driving car to move with coding so that it would travel through a maze. “All in all, it was a fun day with other students to see all of the different opportunities that a path in engineering can potentially lead to in the future,” explained student Christopher Flug.
