On October 7, 2025, Engineering Tomorrow hosted a landmark transatlantic LIVE event connecting students across the United Kingdom and United States. Presented as part of Engineering Tomorrow’s growing international work, the event explored some of the most pressing themes shaping engineering today—access, equity, global impact, and who gets to see themselves in the field.

The event featured a keynote from Nicola Turrini, who invited students to imagine how engineering can change lives through a simple but powerful idea: what if a bridge could change everything? Drawing from global experience, Nicola illustrated how human-centered design can open pathways to education, healthcare, and opportunity. Students also heard from Lauren Sawyer, whose journey from Engineering Tomorrow College Mentor to professional engineer offered a real, relatable example—particularly for girls considering engineering for the first time—of what’s possible.
