On October 11, Engineering Tomorrow celebrated International Day of the Girl with a high-energy virtual experience that brought students and educators from across the United States together for a shared moment of inspiration and focus on girls in STEM.
The event featured a keynote presentation from Tamara Robertson—Emmy-nominated engineer, TV host, and maker advocate—who shared her personal journey in STEM. Her story led from dirt roads and detours to scaling a seven-story building with a shop vac (!), all while reframing engineering not just as a career, but as a creative, curiosity-driven way to make real-world impact. Students were encouraged to see confidence, resilience, and imagination as true STEM superpowers, and to believe—deeply—that everyone belongs.
