Astrodynamics Lab Day: NASA’s Andre Douglas teaches students about spacecrafts, launch vehicles, and orbits
On March 4, thousands of students across the country joined Engineering Tomorrow to learn about the exciting field of astrodynamics from Andre Douglas, an active NASA astronaut.
During the lab, students learned the fundamentals of stress and strain in astrodynamics and explored career paths in the field. Students then put their knowledge into action by designing, building, and testing their own balloon rockets. All lab materials were shipped to participating schools free of cost.
At all-girls high school Academy of Mt. St. Ursula in the Bronx, Engineering Tomorrow Staff Engineer Gerry Dawes joined students in person to lead them through the lab. Watch a clip from the event here at BronxNews12.
