Clean Water

Filtration Systems & Water Conservation

January 26, 2027|12–12:45pm EST

How do we get clean water to the communities that need it?

Bring the chemistry, biology, and math principles your students are learning in the classroom to life with this inspiring keynote by Engineers Without Borders’s Natalie Celmo. She’ll talk about communities they’re partnered with throughout the world, and also describe her career journeys and how they chose engineering.

Students will have the opportunity to ask questions, as well as current college students who are studying related fields.

Meet our keynote speaker
Natalie Celmo

Natalie Celmo is the Program Director for U.S. Community Programs at Engineers Without Borders USA.

She is leading efforts to connect under-resourced communities with pro-bono engineering support for water, wastewater, and other civil infrastructure needs. She believes that engineering should be grounded in empathy as much as technical skill, and her work centers equitable, long-term solutions.

Natalie began as an EWB-USA volunteer in 2010 before joining the staff in 2020, following earlier experience in project management for commercial construction. She is a licensed Professional Engineer with a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
